Twain about German

“Whenever the literary German dives into a sentence, that is the last time you are going to see o him until he emerges on the other side of his Atlantic with his verb in his mouth”.

Mark Twain, “Connecticut Yankee in King’s Arthur’s Court”.

That’s why despite all my efforts, including living in Germany for 3 years, my German is still so-o-o-o-o-o poor.
